The Effect of Corrosion Conditions on Aging of Artificial Patina on Three Bronzes

The new bronze objects of art are almost always patinated before their exposure outdoors or indoors. Among the many patination methods used by practitioners, sulphide is one most common techniques. aim this work to examine corrosion behaviour bronzes under various aging conditions, including continuous immersion in simulated urban rain, alternating wet/dry cycles, and chamber with NO2 gas. study was conducted on three types varying tin content. Corrosion characterisation samples performed means electrochemical impedance spectroscopy polarization measurements. Chemical composition morphology surface examined infrared scanning electron microscopy. Obtained results show that freshly surfaces exhibit low resistance gradually improves over time. An increase strongly depends it appears be highest conditions.
